CED History and Leadership
Forging a history of innovative machining achievements
CED Services was launched in 1982 by our president and CEO Steven Meyer. Committed to delivering turnkey, high-quality machined parts, Steves strategy was to ensure our customers always realized a combination of knowledge-based consulting, innovative engineering, and uncompromising machining precision. This strategy was realized by combining state-of-the-art machining technologies with a dedicated, customer-first service approach.
Steady expansion to stay ahead of our machining client’s needs
CED’s demonstrated a keen ability to consistently solve complex machining and component assembly challenges. Customers in a wide range of industries began to realize improved product quality, along with cost and delivery efficiencies that boosted end profits. This proven performance led to CED doubling in size during each of its first 6 years, steadily expanding capabilities along the way in important machining disciplines.
Today, CED’s 40,000 square foot, custom machining facility in Oxford, CT is our fourth and largest. Dedicated departments provide for engineering design, CNC manufacturing, finishing, and component assembly. Our abundant space, combined with our AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 Certification, allows us to accommodate short-term warehousing for parts used in strictly monitored industries like aerospace, medical, and defense. We also produce and warehouse cvomponents used in consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive, ultrasonics, printing and marking, nuclear and the semiconductor fields.
