CED Services’ “Leadership History”
CED Services’ Leadership History: over four decades of innovative manufacturing achievements
CED Services’ Leadership History is a testament to the manufacturing insight of founder and acting president/CEO Steven Meyer. Steve launched Consulting, Engineering, & Development Services, Inc. (or “CED”) back in 1982. His focus was on providing turnkey, accountable solutions for designing, manufacturing, finishing, and delivering of high-precision, custom machined parts.
To accomplish this, Steve built a facility and team that could offer a combination of new Manufacturing Consulting, innovative CAD-Assisted Engineering and Designing, and advanced Manufacturing Development. These Development services included CNC Machining, detailed surface Finishing, and even skilled Subassembly for complex multi-part components.
Steve’s strategy was strengthened by his unwavering commitment to:
- Continually reinvest in state-of-the-art machining technologies — and also in the best people
- Build and integrate the most robust and detailed Quality Assurance program available.
- Deliver only customer-first service that placed clients and their program success as priority #1.
As client needs grew, so did our Manufacturing abilities.
CED demonstrated a true ability to consistently solve complex part design, machining, and component assembly challenges. Customers in a wide range of industries began to appreciate the improved product quality, delivery reliability, and cost-efficiencies that CED provided. All benefits that helped boost our client’s businesses and profits.
Providing these business-strengthening advantages resulted in CED doubling in size during each of its first 6 years. With this growth, we steadily expanded capabilities in each of the service genres offered.
CED’s “Leadership History” continues to be written!
Today, CED occupies our fourth and largest facility— a 40,000 square foot, custom designed and built Machine Shop in Oxford, Connecticut. Here, dedicated departments continue to provide secure Consulting, Engineering, and Development solutions that exceed even the most scrutinizing client’s expectations. Our abundant space, combined with AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 Certification, allows us to accommodate short-term warehousing for parts used in strictly monitored industries that include Aerospace, Medical, and Defense.
We also produce and warehouse components used in B2B and B2C industries like Electronics, Semiconductor & Telecommunications, Automotive, Marine, Agriculture, Energy, Commercial, and more.
